The way I see it is similar to the question of "do you need to know how to code to vibe code?" You don't, but it helps. And someone with 10 years of programming skills vs someone like me can output at very different levels with the same ai tools.
The way I describe it is, I can now be a 1x engineer, but a 1x engineer who can use the tools well can now be a 5-10x engineer depending on her level of tool proficiency.
